Crossley Farm is run by us, Laura & Michael Barber, with the help of our eager children Maisie & Cole.

Farming isn’t just a job; it’s a big part of our family lifestyle. When you have livestock to care for and the British weather to work with, there are no set hours. We are dedicated and committed, whether it’s Christmas Day or the middle of the night, farming doesn’t have a finish time. It’s not always easy, but we absolutely love it and wouldn’t have it any other way!

 The farm has kept cattle for generations until we welcomed two pet lambs (Betty & Boris) in 2020. We didn’t know it at the time, but that was the beginning of our sheep journey. We have continued to grow our flock, with lambing now being a special time in the farming calendar for us.

Alongside farming the land to make our own winter feed, calving the cattle and lambing the sheep, we run a large livery yard accommodating for every size horse from miniature shetlands to shire horses.

Having acres of land has allowed us to host a variety of events on the farm over the years, from parties and weddings to fitness challenges. We enjoy this side of things and always look forward to getting stuck in.
